Membership Categories
Cost: $50 annually
Description:
'Full Member' is the normal category that the majority of members will hold. All other categories are for a special purpose.
Requirements to join:
You must:
- Have some level of formal training qualification, and/or experience in Flight Test.
- Provide a professional referee, who can assist the Board to confirm your suitability to join FTSA.
- Submit an application via the Website.
Privileges:
You will have:
- An invitation to all FTSA events
- Full access to the FTSA document library
- Full access to the FTSA membership list
- Voting rights at the Annual General Meeting
- Appointment to any subcommittee
- Election to any Committee position
Requirements of Membership:
You must:
- Pay your annual membership within 3 months of expiry. If payment is not received by this time, your membership will be cancelled.
- Keep your contact information up to date, in particular Email, as the primary method of communication between members and the board.
Cost: $50 annually
Description:
'Associate Member' is available to anyone who is interested in joining FTSA, but does not meet the criteria for 'Full Membership'.
Requirements to join:
You must:
- Provide a professional referee, who can assist the Board to confirm your suitability to join FTSA.
- Submit an application via the Website.
Privileges:
You will have:
- Invitation to all FTSA events
- Full access to FTSA document library
- Full access to FTSA membership list
- Appointment to any subcommittee
- Election to any Committee position, excluding President
Requirements of Membership:
You can:
- Submit an application for 'Full Member' status at any time once you meet the criteria.
Cost: $25 annually
Description:
Student Member' is available to anyone who is undergoing a relevant course of study, such as Aerospace Engineering.
Requirements to join:
You must:
- Provide a professional referee, who can assist the Board to confirm your suitability to join FTSA.
- Submit an application via the Website.
Privileges:
You will have:
- An invitation to all FTSA events
- Full access to FTSA document library
- Full access to FTSA membership list
- Appointment to any subcommittee
Requirements of Membership:
You must:
- Meet the requirements as per 'Full Membership'.
- Notify the board upon completion of your training course, at which point you can apply for Full or Associate membership.

Description:
Life Member' is awarded to select individuals who have made substantial contributions to the advancement of the Flight Test profession within Australia, or to FTSA in general
Requirements to join:
You must:
- Be nominated by an existing FTSA member
- Approved for 'Life Membership' by the Board
Privileges:
You will have:
- All privileges as per 'Full Membership'
- Perpetual membership with no requirement to pay a renewal fee
Requirements of Membership:
You must:
- Meet the requirements as per 'Full Membership'.
Cost: NIL
Description:
Honrary Member' is awarded to select individuals who have made substantial contributions to the advancement of the Flight Test profession within Australia, or to FTSA in general, but not significant enough to warrant 'Life Membership'. 'Honorary Member' can be awarded for a period not greater than 12 months. Consecutive Honorary memberships can be awarded, with no limit on the number of times it can be awarded.

- Be nominated by an existing FTSA member
- Approved for 'Honorary Membership' by the Board
Privileges:
You will have:
- As per 'Full Membership'
- No requirement to pay a renewal fee
Requirements of Membership:
You must:
- Meet the requirements as per 'Full Membership'.
Process to join
(1) Via the website, select the Membership Category you wish to apply for and complete the application form.
(2) Pay the joining fee.
(3) The Membership Officer will review your application and, if the criteria are all met, immediately approve.
(4) You will be sent a welcome Email with a receipt of payment for your joining fee, a digital membership card, and instructions on how to access the FTSA website and other communication platforms.
